Grundfos pumping solutions support research at University of Manchester

Helping to service the new 12 600 m2 Biocentre at the University of Manchester is a wide range of pumping systems based on Grundfos electronically controlled pumps.

Pumping requirements for the £28 million Biocentre post-graduate facility at the University of Manchester are provided by a range of equipment supplied by Grundfos working with contractor BG Bailey to provide a bespoke solution. The new 12 600 m2 centre houses 500 scientists in up to 85 research groups and incorporates many innovative design features to provide an energy-efficient working environment. By incorporating a wide range of the latest advances in building technology, Grundfos delivered technically advanced solutions for a wide range of pump applications. They include Grundfos IMpress pressurisation sets, packaged booster sets complete with CRIE multi-stage centrifugal pumps and a wide range of TPE single-stage centrifugal pumps for heating and chilled water. All pumps were selected from the company’s electronically controlled range and qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances.
