Electrical accessories resist build-up of bacteria

To help combat infections in hospitals, Crabtree has developed a range of anti-microbial electrical switches and socket outlets. They incorporate a silver additive which prevents the ability of micro-organisms to reproduce. This range of products provides a response to a report in The Lancet that cleaning should be targeted on hand-touch sites in wards such as door handles, bed rails, lockers and electrical switches. According to the report, evidence shows that these are the places most likely to harbour MRSA bacteria.
