NEA chooses Smith’s to heat Lowick community hall

smith's
Lowick community hall is reaping the benefits of its new air-source heat pump system, which is being used to power Signature and Sterling fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products. The renewable-energy product, installed as part of a project organised by National Energy Action (NEA) and funded by ScottishPower brings environmental and economic benefits to the community. Arthur Scott, NEA’s technical manager said: ‘Running fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products at Lowick was an obvious choice, because radiators don’t function at the lower water temperature (40°C) produced by the heat pump. Underfloor heating was another option, but that’s unsuitable for existing buildings and just not as energy efficient as fan convectors.’
