AHU with built-in condensers cut installation time for schools in Kent

To speed up the installation of air-handling units for a series of projects for schools in Kent, Fläkt Woods has supplied EC AHUs with built-in heat-rejection condensers.
The installation of Fläkt Woods EC air-handling units has saved installation time and cost for contractor Lorne Stewart working on contracts for schools in Kent by eliminating the need for separate heat-rejection plant. They utilise the extract airstream for heat rejection from a built-in condenser. These AHUs have a cooling capacity of up to 160 kW with airflows from 0.7 to 8 m3/s and a COP of 4.15. The contract involved several schools, so co-ordination was critical on deliveries. Construction programmes were also tight, and all building work had to take place between terms — so Fläkt Woods worked closely with the architect, contractor and client to minimise complexity.
