Comfort in The Knightsbridge residential development in London extends to air-conditioning in common corridors served by six Panasonic VRF units on the roof.
Air conditioning for the common areas of a high-specification residential development in London is provide by Panasonic Urban Multi VRF systems. The Knightsbridge is on a 1.7 acre site between Harrods and Hyde Park Corner and includes 191 apartments, seven penthouses and seven mews houses. Luxurious accommodation is complemented by an on-site health studio, business suite, underground parking and a concierge service managed by the Hyatt International hotel group. The six VRF systems provide comfortable temperatures in corridors leading off lift lobbies on the ground and nine upper floors. Dave Evans, director of Microfix Infrastructure Services which installed the systems for main contractor Advance Building Systems, explains that reliable air conditioning was needed to prevent heat accumulation in the artificially lit corridors of this development. Six roof-mounted R410A units generate 92 kW of cooling for 21 indoor units. They are heat-pump units, so they can also deliver 105 kW of heating The indoor units are quiet-running low-silhouette duct models from the FM3 series and are designed for installation in 350 mm false ceilings.
