Mitsubishi’s controller for hotel rooms is card operated
Mitsubishi Electric has launched a card-operated controller for air conditioning in hotel rooms. The card can be specifically for the controller or double up as the room key.
The Melcotel controller is an evolution of Mitsubishi’s programmable logic controller and can be used in retrofit and new-build projects.
Once activated, Melcotel will reset the air conditioning to a predetermined temperature and constantly monitors the temperature of unoccupied rooms. Air conditioning in empty rooms only comes on to keep the temperature within a set range to conserve energy and ensure that the room reaches the required temperature more quickly when a guest enters the room.
Temperatures are recorded by a sensor in the controller. Windows can be connected so that the air conditioning is not used if they are open.
Melcotel works with City Multi systems. Wireless technology enables these controllers to be accessed remotely when used with a Mini M2M to provide further control and monitoring facilities.
