Fan convectors give warm welcome to refurbished community centre

LST fan convectors from Smith's enviromental Products provide effective space heating for a commity centre in Hallifax

Safe heating for a refurbished community centre in Halifax is provided by low-surface-temperature fan convectors from Smith’s Environmental Products. The Caspian units were specified by staff at Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council and installed by Alfred Bottomley Heating & Plumbing. The 120/12 units installed are the largest in the range and have outputs of 12 kW.

The Queen’s Road Neighbourhood Centre is the venue for a host of community activities, including Urban Street Dance, a Health Living Gym and the healthy living information and support service of the primary care trust and local authority.

Fan convectors are a quick and cost-effective way of heating up a cold room. Recent research by BSRIA has shown them to be 24% more energy efficient than standard radiators — a figure that rises to 31% when running from renewable technologies such as heat pumps.
