SAV heat-exchange modules provide hot-water services in Docklands apartments

Space heating and instantaneous hot water for apartments in this development in London’s Docklands are provided by SAV AquaCon heat-exchange modules served by central boiler plant.

Energy-efficient hot water and heating will be provided for a high-rise residential development in London’s Docklands by AquaCon heat-exchange modules from SAV Systems served by central boiler plant. Phase 1 of Indescon Court comprises some 350 apartments in five blocks up to 16 storeys high. There will also be 1200 m2 of retail and commercial space and a block of social housing.

These heat-exchange modules generate hot water immediately when needed, so there is no need for storage in the apartments and associated heat losses.

They also divert energy to hot-water supply, which is much more efficient, especially at times of peak demand — and also ensures a low return temperature to the boiler plant so that condensing boilers can be kept at maximum efficiency for longer.

All the modules incorporate differential-pressure controls to maintain optimum pressure conditions in the hot-water and heating circuits — maximising the energy exchange at times of peak demand.
