Community heat-pump project receives 100% grant funding
The first project to receive 100% grant funding to install a Dimplex ground-source heat pump is Rendcomb Village Hall near Cirencester. Dimplex was supported in the project by its installer partner Ecovision Systems, which helped with securing grant funding, specifying, installing and commissioning the SI 14 ME system.
Half the funding came through the Low Carbon Buildings Programme Phase 2, with Rendcomb securing 50% match funding through the Community Sustainable Energy Programme.
Heat is extracted from the ground through boreholes, since there was not enough space in the garden for ground coils to achieve the correct heat output.
Peter Randall, chief executive of Ecovision, says, ‘To have a 100% grant for a heating system that brings lower running costs and lower carbon emissions is a fantastic opportunity, and the more people who know about it the better.’
