Barnard Castle gets new lease of life from WYG

WYG has been appointed to provide M&E design services for the £5.8 million redevelopment of Witham Hall in Barnard Castle, Co. Durham. The project includes the restoration of a Grade 2 listed buildings and the construction of a new buildings. Key to the design will be the provision of joint-use spaces, including a cinema that can also be used as a conference or exhibition space. There will also be a second flexible theatre/event space, a gallery and some 14 retail units in the new food hall.

The project will rejuvenate the town by providing space for developing businesses, a new specialist regional food hall and all the community and cultural facilities that already exist.
