SC Controls helps to educate the next generation of energy users

SC Controls, the commercial division for SeaChange controls products in the Ener-G group, has developed an e-learning educational package for schools and the education sector. The software can collect live data from an onsite SeaChange control system via the school’s IT network. Students will be able to experiment with live values and develop a better understanding of their environment.

For example, they could monitor live information on internal and external temperatures, current and total daily energy consumption from utility meters, and obtain an overview of current and average heating and cooling demands. They can also obtain data on air quality and CO2 levels, wind speed and direction from a weather station, and information from renewable-energy products.

Students can also create simple graphs based on historical data.

Navid Mehr, managing director at SC Controls, says, ‘By exposing students to real live data, they can become more energy conscious and grasp a better understanding of technologies used in their school
