Weatherite Building Services has been appointed by the John Lewis Partnership for a major upgrade of the heating system for its store at Brent Cross Shopping Centre in North London. This store has over 11 000 m2 of selling space across three floors and is undergoing a complete upgrade of its HVAC systems.

Weatherite was appointed principal contractor for phase 2 of the works, involving the recovery of existing boilers and calorifiers, plus the design, supply and installation of a new LPHW and DHW system — together with commissioning the new boilers, water heaters, controls and control panels.

Mike Turton, managing director of WBS, comments, ‘Currently we are undertaking a nationwide programme for the replacement of R22 refrigerant at their stores to ensure full compliance with new legislation. The Brent Cross project is a significant contract, and we are delighted to have been appointed for it.’
