Mixer tap is a cool touch for safety in hospitals

Rada, DHW, hospital, mixer tap

Rada’s Safetherm thermostatic mixer tap for healthcare is said to be the first mixer tap to feature ‘Insutech+ Technology’ to reduce surface temperatures on the hot inlet to a safe level. This addresses growing health-sector concerns about accidental contact burns, particularly for children and the elderly grabbing the body of a hot tap.

This sequential, single-lever thermostatic mixer tap is easy to operate under hospital protocols, with a maximum travel of 120°, so it is easy to operate using the elbow to prevent cross infection, while delivering a full range of water temperatures in a controlled manner.

To further help reduce the risk of contamination, the design eliminates unnecessary internal spaces and internal machining detail that could house standing water when a top is not in use.

Water temperature is controlled at the point of delivery so prevent scalding, while allowing higher upstream temperatures to be applied to reduce the risk of legionella.

The entire surface of these taps is smooth for easy and effective cleaning. Parts that may require servicing are accessible without having to remove the tap.
