Helping to comply with Part M for toilets
Total Hygiene has introduced two products to help comply with the requirements of Part M of the Building Regulations for some means of adjusting the height of toilet seats to help wheelchair users transfer as easily as possible to the WC pan. They are the Aerolet toilet lift and the Lima Lifter height-adjustable wash-and-dry toilet.
The Aerolet fits easily over a conventional WC pan or a wash-and-dry toilet to raise and lower the user in a natural manner while maintaining their centre of gravity for stability.
The Lima Lifter has an integrated douche and dryer with fully automatic adjustment of height. Controls adjust the height of the unit to the most suitable height for the user.
Robin Tuffley, the company’s marketing manager, says, ‘A toilet lifter or height-adjustable toilet in a disabled WC makes a huge difference to the potential number of people who can use the facility, enhancing their feeling of independence and wellbeing and, therefore, making them more likely to frequent the establishment.’
