Shenton Group provides vital standby power for IG Index

Shenton Group, standby poer
Ready for the worst — these two standby generators supplied by Shenton Group for the new headquarters of IG Index in the City of London provide N+1 resilience.

To provide the essential security of electrical supply required by IG Index, a world leader in financial spread betting, for its new and larger headquarters in the City of London, Shenton Group supplied two Scorpion Sterling 1250 kVA generators. They are housed in weatherproof, super-silent canopies and equipped with integral fuel tanks. They are synchronised to provide an N+1 configuration for greater resilience and controlled through a dual mutual control system and remote monitoring unit.

The project was won on competitive tender and recommended by IG Index’s consultant.

With much of its business online, protecting the data centre, financial dealers, IT and customer services against power outages is essential for IG Index as any power cut would have a detrimental effect on the running of the company. In order to trade, the company has to ensure that power quality is assured at all times and the computing systems can work through the worst possible mains failures.
