Acoustic ventilation provides fresh air for homes near airbase
A new development of over 150 homes at Mildenhall in Suffolk is benefiting from clean air and reduced noise levels with the installation of Sonair acoustic ventilation units from Titon. Developed by Abbey New Homes, Havilland Wood is close to the historic military airbase current used by the US Air Force and comprised apartments and larger family homes.
The wall-mounted Sonair units are installed in each room to deliver filtered fresh air and attenuate the intermittently high external noise levels from military jets at the nearby airbase by 56 dB(A).
G2 filters fitted as standard capture 50 to 70% of particles larger than 10 µm under normal dust-load conditions. If dust loads are moderate to high, the optional F6 filter captures 99% of all dust particles — including pollen, spores, cement dust and excreta of the house-dust mite.
These ventilation units are quiet in operation, down to 15 dB(A), and have a power consumption of 13 W to deliver 17 l/s.
