Sudlows, which specialises in designing and building data centres, has reported a 72% increase in turnover for the year to date to £11 million. This achievement marks the culmination of the most successful year in the company’s 100-year history. Managing director John Collins says, ‘This excellent growth has been a result of two years’ major investment in new technology and highly skilled professionals that, in turn, has been instrumental in driving the business forward — defying the very tough trading conditions.

The company is based in Manchester and has recently opened an office in London to service its growing list of City clients and is projected to reach a turnover of £20 million by its centenary year of 2012.

Significant contract wins have included numerous web-hosting companies, the Co-operative Group, Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Trust, Anglia Ruskin University and Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

Sudlows has also seen a significant rise in international enquiries for data centres from North America, Africa and Asia.
