Mitsubishi’s latest VRF range uses 15% less energy a year

Mitsubishi, VRF, air conditioning

The latest range of City Multi air-conditioning units from Mitsubishi Electric delivers a 4% increase in COP and EER compared with the previous range. This improvement is achieved by a redesigned compressor with a more concentrated stator coil. A redesigned heat exchanger provides up to a 3% increase in heating/cooling performance. These new models have been designed to provide a better distribution of refrigerant through the heat exchanger, improving the defrost cycle.

The overall effect is a better seasonal performance.

A standard-efficiency YJM system with a nominal capacity of 28 kW has an SEER of 7.13 — 14% higher than that of the previous-generation YHM model.

The seasonal COP for heating is up to 4.94, 25% higher than the previous model.

The combined effect is a 15% reduction in energy use over a year.

All YJM units are on the Energy Technology List and qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances.
