BBES to refurbish major railway property in York
The refurbishment of the 5-storey 10 000 m2 George Stephenson House in York includes an M&E contract awarded to Balfour Beatty Engineering Services. The building is occupied by ultimate customer Network Rail. The contract includes the design, supply and installation of mechanical and electrical services for customer ISG Regions and comprises heating, chilled water, ventilation, domestic services, public health, lighting, power, fire alarms and building-management systems.
During the strip-out works, BBES will be looking to remove, recycle and reuse a large proportion of the existing services — particularly electrical containment.
