SAS International achieves record pre-tax profit

SAS International, which claims to be the UK’s largest manufacturer of interior construction products, has announced record pre-tax profits for the year ending December 2010. Turnover was up by 9.3% to £74 million, with a profit of £7 million. Although orders in the UK showed a downturn, export orders increased by 127%.

The company’s product range comprises metal ceilings, partitioning, doors, room-comfort products and architectural metalwork.

Commenting on the outlook for the immediate future, CEO Eddie McElhinney, said, ‘We envisage true growth will not return to the UK until 2013. However, export markets continue to remain attractive, although the recent political volatility in the Middle East is seeing some delays to the commencement of major projects.’
