The ventilation requirements for this new velodrome in Glasgow will be met by a supply and installation package awarded to Flakt Woods.

Flakt Woods is to meet the ventilation requirements of the indoor sports arena and velodrome being built for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow as a supply and installation package. The company is supplying 25 AHUs from its EU range. Some units will be the largest type available, EU84s, with high-efficiency fans equipped with airflow-measurement devices and a capacity of 25 m3/s.

These supply and exhaust units have run-around coils to recover energy, heating, integrated local cooling and integrated local controls with connection to a building-management system.

The National Indoor Sports Arena and Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome is being built by Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd. Work is due to be completed in Summer 2012.

The Velodrome wil have a 250 m banked timer track and be capable of housing 2500 spectators, with 2000 seated. It will be one of the biggest indoor facilities of its type in Europe.
