Birmingham City University has submitted a detailed planning application for a £41 million building designed to house a completely new school of life sciences and a relocated school of education. The 10 500 m2 building at the City South campus in Edgbaston would enable the university to offer a wide range of new health, nutrition, biomedical science and sports courses.

Sheppard Robson has been appointed as architect, with Couch Perry Wilkes as mechanical and services engineer. The formal planning decision is expected by the end of the year.
