Radio station keeps its cool with the help of Daikin UK

Reprezent 107.3FM, London’s youth-led radio station, is enjoying air-conditioned comfort thanks to the free installation of an air-conditioning system by TechniCool Air Conditioning and donated by Daikin UK. With a listenership of 120 000, the station is the ‘voice of young London’ and campaigns on issues such as mental health, housing and youth unemployment. It has helped thousands of young people develop their skills and talents, represent youth issues and increase their employability.

Based in Pop Brixton, the station occupies three repurposed shipping contains.

Shane Carey, director of Reprezent, pictured (right) with Steve Fox, contract sales engineer with Daikin UK, explains, ‘With over 100 young people broadcasting from our studios in it got incredibly hot and stuffy! The Daikin team visited the studio to find the best solution, and recommended a unit which would work well for our unique environment.’

Air conditioning is provided by a 5 kW under-ceiling unit, part of the FLXS Flexi-wall and ceiling rang; it is ideal for applications where there is limited wall space.
