BSRIA, smart technology

BSRIA’s third topic guide deals with smart technology and is available for download from its web site. It is aimed at those looking for introductory information about smart technology— including trends, smart products, the Internet of Things and recent developments. There is also guidance on the standard open protocols for intelligent buildings.

The guide was written by Jeremy Towler (pictured), BSRIA’s senior manager for energy and smart technologies.

He says of the guide, ‘With so many new products incorporating sophisticated hardware and software appearing in the market and with the majority of people now toting a smartphone, it is not surprising that IoT is forecast to grow at a phenomenal pace. It promises to deliver a plethora of new applications and benefits. This topic guide lays out some of the most important developments in smart technology and is designed to help the reader navigate this rapidly evolving area.’
