Automatic flow limiting and control in one valve

The AB-QM control valve from Danfoss is a very compact dual-purpose valve that can be used as an automatic flow limiter or, when fitted with an actuator, a combined flow limiter and temperature-control valve. To use a valve as an automatic flow limiter, it is simply necessary to turn the presetting scale to the desired flow range. A built-in diaphragm then maintains a constant low differential pressure across the valve’s setting cone to ensure the maximum flow rate is not exceeded. Fitting a valve with a thermal-wax or electric actuator upgrades it to provide temperature control and automatic flow balancing.. A shut off facility is incorporated for easy maintenance. The AB-QM can be supplied with test nipples, so that it can be directly metered with equipment such as the Danfoss PFM 3000, which measures flow, differential pressure and temperature in heating and cooling systems. These valves are available in five sizes from 10 to 32 mm to handle flows from 30 to 3200 l/h.

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
