Motor drive for HVAC has built-in maintenance assistant

ABB
The capabilities of a BMS to manage maintenance can now be incorporated into ABB’s standard HVAC drive.
ABB’s standard drive for HVAC applications now has a maintenance assistance to help schedule maintenance of the drive and associated equipment where there is no BMS. It can prompt users to commission maintenance at specific time intervals, after a set number of operating hours or when equipment fails to meet performance e criteria. For example, an air-handling unit will draw more current as dust builds up inside. If an AHU normally draws 35 A with a clean filter, the maintenance assistance can prompt the user to replace the filter when the current reaches 42 A. The maintenance assistant can also keep track of intervals for bearing and drive replacement, as well as lubrication intervals, by monitoring motor running hours or motor revolutions. enquiries@gb.abb.com
