Davis Langdon appointed for two major regeneration projects in north of England

Davis Langdon as been appointed cost manager on two major regeneration schemes in the north of England for Amec Developments. They are worth a total of almost £400 million. The Waterdale development in Doncaster and Talbot Gateway in Blackpool are both significant mixed-use schemes that will revitalise previously run-down areas of these towns. Doncaster Waterdale is a £200 million development that will transform a 60 acre site on the edge of the town centre into a new civic and cultural quarter. New civic facilities — including council offices, a performance venue, library and leisure centre — will be part of a scheme that will also include a cinema, bars and restaurants, offices and new town-centre homes. Talbot Gateway in Blackpool is worth about £190 million and will regenerate the run-down north-eastern part of the town around Blackpool North railway stations. It will include a new public square, 10 000 m2 of council offices, a courthouse and a 7000 m2 supermarket.
