Highlighting the green credentials of the Gripple suspension system
Gripple has identified another benefit of its suspension system for mechanical and electrical services — lower carbon-dioxide emissions associated with its manufacture, transport and installation. The company’s claims are based on independent research which shows that up to 17 times more carbon dioxide is emitted producing steel for traditional M&E suspension methods, such as threaded rod and chain, than in the production of Gripple hangers, which largely comprise steel wire rope. The fact that Gripple hangers are up to 17 times lighter than other suspension systems also has implications on transport and safety issues by reducing fuel costs and easing handling and installation. For more information on this story, click here:Dec 2007, 167
