Intelligent Fire Panels from Advanced Electronics are at the heart of a new fire detection system at Bristol’s newest flagship school. The £33 million Redland green school will house nearly 1400 students. Seven Advanced Mx-400 fire control panels were installed by Bristol-based MAT Fire Systems Ltd, together with over 400 detectors and 300 base sounders from Hochiki and eight Airsense Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) systems. A combination of five single-loop panels and two 4-loop panels were installed in different locations throughout the school and networked together to provide a single integrated system. The Airsense ASD units were also fully interfaced to the Mx-400 panels via I/O units.
