Combining solar and electric energy for heating and hot water

The Solstice range of stainless-steel solar electric combination boilers from Advance Appliances have outputs of 3, 6 and 9 kW. The heat bank acts as a buffer/collector for solar energy and uses the stored water to help deliver space heating and domestic hot water at mains pressure. LST radiators can be used for space heating, and the units are particularly suited to underfloor heating. The shortfall in solar energy is provided by immersion heaters. Sunlight provides sufficient energy input from late spring to early autumn. Solstice has extra tappings for ancillary inputs such as biomass appliances or heat pumps. These units have a 5-year guarantee.
