Plastic pipe saves site time and avoids risk of theft

Durapipe
All hot- and cold-water services for the £8.5 million relocation of a Doncaster school are provided by Durapipe Friatherm pipework in sizes up to 90 mm. Hill House St Mary’s independent school is moving to the site of the former RAF Finningley Officers’ Mess, and these buildings have been refurbished to cater for education needs while preserving original features such as ornate plasterwork, wooden flooring, windows and wooden panelling. Friatherm pipework was selected by mechanical contractor JGM because it offers significant cost and time savings on site. It does not require hot works and offers a one-step jointing technique. Other projects in the area have suffered from thefts of metal, so JGM stated that no copper pipework was to be used.
