Pegler Yorkshire is investing £12 million in new machinery at its Doncaster site to improve efficiency and capacity, while helping to deliver additional work for the factory.

The investment includes a £3 million grant from the business investment scheme through Yorkshire and the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, which was announced by Minister for Business Pat McFadden (MP) and Minister for Yorkshire and the Humber Rosie Winterton on a recent visit to the factory.

The investment will enable the existing rod-making facility to be replaced with the latest equipment and automated machinery. The new facility should be operational early in 2010. The investment is a significant part of a 3-year plan for the Doncaster site.
