Pettit Singleton Associates, consultant

It was a double success for Preston-based consultant Pettit Singleton Associates in CIBSE’s north-west regional awards, Not only did the company pick up the consultant of the year award, but one of its team, graduate engineer Gregory Osborne, was named student of the year for his time at the University of Central Lancashire. Jimmy Dobson (right in picture), a partner with PSA, was presented with the consultant of the year award by Robert Manning, president-elect of CIBSE.

PSA won the award for its strong performance during the current economic recession and its ability to maintain the achievement of 75% of its work through repeat business. The scope of its projects range from an office refurbishment of £100 000 to a new-build health centre and leisure complex of £30 million.

Jimmy Dobson comments, ‘We are delighted to be given this award, which shows that a company that employs 22 people is able to compete with worldwide companies. We are currently looking to expand within the sustainability sector, with our expertise through BREEAM and low-carbon technologies, and we feel we are perfectly placed to develop further by offering BREEAM Assessments.’
