Dimplex heat-pump data can be used in SAP calculations

Dimplex, heat pump

Dimplex heat pumps are included in the SAP Appendix Q list, which enables their true performance, instead of default COPs, to be incorporated into carbon-emissions calculations for new dwellings using an online database developed by BRE.

The online Appendix Q tool includes certified heat-pump performance data at a range of standard operating conditions for both heating and hot water. This data can be modelled in SAP against a building’s characteristics to provide an accurate, building-specific, heat-pump seasonal performance factor for heating and domestic hot water.

Overall system efficiency is than converted into CO2 emissions for including in the SAP dwelling emission rate calculation.
