Birmingham building-services provide JS Wright has received an award from a world-renowned training organisation for investing in its people. The company, which celebrates its 120th anniversary this year, has been presented with the Dale Carnegie Excellence Award in Leadership Development — joining such companies as Coca-Cola, Adidas and Boeing.

The award from the acclaimed American-based foundation recognises companies that are committed to improving their performance by developing their people at all levels.

Ed Carter, Dale Carnegie’s chief executive for central England, said, ‘JS Wright has been recognised for the exceptional value that it places on its human resources. The company has a very clear sense of direction and even in a time of recession has not wavered from its commitment to growing through staff training.’

The company launched the JS Wright Academy as a career development forum for its Birmingham and London apprentices with the help of Dale Carnegie two years ago. All employees can also enrol on Dale Carnegie personal development and leadership courses, as well as other internal, college and supplier courses throughout their careers.
