Acquisition takes SEC into eastern England

Southern Electric Contracting (SEC) has acquired BPS, the electrical-contracting business of what was previously Eastern Contracting, from Alfred McAlpine. As part of the deal, Scottish and Southern has acquired the Eastern Contracting name, which is no longer used by Alfred McAlpine. Bob Hall, chief executive of SEC, says, ‘Eastern Contracting and SEC complement each other well. We both have a similar background and business, and that makes us ideal partners.’
