First jobs for Sanyo R410A heat pumps serve large homes in Surrey

Sanyo, heat pump
The heating and hot-water requirements of this new home near Oxted, Surrey, are supplied by Sanyo’s recently launched heat-pump split system.

The first installations of Sanyo’s recently launched R410A heat-pump split provide heat for two new homes in Oxted, Surrey. These air-to-water systems have been installed in two architect-designed homes overlooking rolling country side. The systems have an output of 15.4 kW and serve underfloor heating, radiators and DHW.

The heat pumps are connected to a hot-water storage tank with a capacity of 300 l and provide hot water at up to 50°C for underfloor heating and radiators. They can also provide hot and chilled water for heating and cooling via fan coils. They can achieve COPs of up to 4.

The compact indoor unit contains a plate heat exchanger, back up electric heaters, water pump and control panel.

It is connected to the outdoor unit by refrigerant pipes, an element of the system that must be installed by a suitably qualified installer.

The DC inverter-driven rotary compressors have a start-up current of around 2 A.
