Refurbishment work for Balfour Beatty — Meridian Court in Glasgow.

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services has been awarded a £3.3 million internal refurbishment and fit-out contract for a 5900 m2 building for NHS National Services Scotland to accommodate the relocation of around 500 staff from five existing locations. The 7-storey Meridian Court office building in Glasgow was formerly the headquarters for the Scottish Executive, but has been unused for a year. BBES will carry out a full M&E fit-out, including daylight-linking lighting controls, seasonal commissioning and inverter-driven motors.

Many of the installations will be prefabricated modules, and pre-flexed luminaires will be included in the scheme. Existing switchgear and boilerhouse plant will be retained, along with sub-mains cabling and pipework in the main risers.
