JS brings Neptronic actuators to UK

actuators
Fail-safe versions of Neptronic valves and actuators store energy in a capacitor to move the actuator to its fail-safe position.
Neptronic actuators and actuated valves are now distributed in the UK by JS Actuators. The range includes direct-coupled electronic actuators to provide precision control for applications such as dampers, VAV systems, fan-coil units and air-handling units. Fail-safe versions use capacitors to store energy to move the actuator to its fail-safe position in the event of a power failure. Not using a spring enables the use of a smaller motor and increases its life by up to six times. Neptronic has been a leading US manufacture of actuators and actuated valves for 15 years. There are digital and analogue rotary and linear actuators for dampers, multi-signal actuators, high-torque actuators and fast actuators for applications such as fume hood cupboards. Complete actuated valves include 2- and 3-way actuated ball valves, globe valves and butterfly valves. Retrofit kits include actuator and linkage for assembly to globe valves, ball valves and butterfly valves. sales@jsactuators.com

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
