CPD accreditation for HVAC controls course

The training course in controls for HVAC services developed by the Building Controls Industry Association now has continuing professional development accreditation via the IEE and CIBSE. The course is administered by the Electrical Contractors;’ Association and was developed to provide controls training for industry engineers. It is also attracting a growing number of contractors and other industry-related professionals. Doug Robins, president of BCIA says, ‘Building controls represents a specialised but broad-spectrum discipline, the fundamentals of which need to be understood outside of the building-controls industry. This is being acknowledged by the growing number of contractors and other professional enrolling on the courses.’ The programme was established a little over two years ago. By the end of last year, over 500 course certificates had been awarded, leading to 100 BCIA technical certificates and 13 advanced certificates. Details can be found on the ECA web site.
