Johnson & Starley launches condensing warm-air heaters

Johnson & Starley, space heating, warm air, condensing

Johnson & Starley’s range of WarmCair condensing warm-air heaters offers heating outputs from 10 kW right up to 46 kW, making them suitable for commercial projects. Three models are downflow units that combine warm-air heating with the production of domestic hot water; they have outputs of 10, 16 and 20 kW. In addition there are five heating-only downflow models with heating outputs from 10 to 46 kW and four upflow models with heating from 16 to 46 kW. Noise levels are said to be exceptionally low.

Condensation is achieved by passing the flue gases through a secondary heat exchanger and transferring its heat to the airstream. Up to 98% thermal efficiency is achievable, with energy savings up to up 28% compared with non-condensing heaters.

These heaters are suitable for new-build and replacement projects. A WarmCair heater can replace any existing warm-air heater with minimum disruption, with work generally taking less than a day. An integral condensate pump is standard.

The fully modulating burner and combustion controls are combined with long-life stainless-steel heat exchangers, with a design and construction that has patent pending for Europe, the United States, Canada, Asia and Australasia.

These heaters are being included in the Energy Technology List and will qualify for Enhanced Capital Allowances for commercial enterprises. They also qualify for £320 Green Deal Cashback.

Electrical consumption is reduced by using EC fan-motor technology, rather than AC.
