Business centres opt for renewable electricity

Basepoint Business Centres, renewable energy
The Canterbury site of Basepoint Business Centres is one of 30 now using renewable electricity.

Basepoint Business Centres, which has managed business facilities at 30 locations in England and Wales, has agreed a 100% green and renewable electricity supply contract through SSE and Hudson Energy. A number of Basepoint’s buildings include biomass boilers and solar panels.

Tim Sonnex, property director of parent company The ACT Foundation, explains, ‘We are committed to our environmental policy, and we recognise that sensitive management of the environment forms an essential part of what we do.

‘We have a duty to minimise the energy used in our centres and reduce our carbon footprint through good energy-management and procurement practices.’
