Luxonic lights iconic building in London

Contributing to the BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating of Sixty London at Holborn Viaduct in London is lighting and controls from Luxonic Lighting. Over 2500 bespoke fittings have been installed throughout 20 000 m2 of prime office space.

The incorporation of DALI technology enables effective energy management and provides the building with the tools for reducing its energy costs. Luxonic also provided DALI-addressable emergency inverters to integrate with the system.

The recessed luminaires integrate into the SAS International ceiling and were supplied for direct installation — complete with lamps and cables.

A logarithmic dimming behaviour matches the response of the human eye.

Luuc Schutte, senior associate principal with Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, which designed the building, said, ‘Luxonic were recommended as alternative suppliers for the general office lighting of Sixty London. They did not disappoint. We found them to be very receptive to our design ideas and keen to demonstrate that our high expectations for built quality could be met. The final installation was very well received, and we are now considering the use of the same luminaires for a number of UK developments.’
