New boilers cut school energy bill by 35%

Ideal Commercial Boilers, space heating

Banks Lane Infant & Nursery School in Stockport has reduced its energy bills by 35% following the installation of three Imax 400 kW floor-standing condensing boilers from Ideal Commercial Boilers. Stuart Leatherbarrow, project leader (mechanical) for Carillion, specified the boilers for their reliability, efficiency and low NOx emissions.

The boilers needed to be small enough for installer Flamerite to move them through a number of standard-size doorways.

Stuart Leatherbarrow explains, ‘We needed a high-output appliance that could be integrated into the existing open system rather than having to spend time and expenditure converting it into a pressurised heating system. The Imax Xtra can operate at water pressures as low as 0.5 bar and on systems with a feed-and-expansion tank.’

The boilers were integrated with a Trend BMS using the volt-free contacts that are standard on each Imax Xtra model.
