Interserve wins its first project with University of York

Interserve

Interserve has won a contract to design and build a new 3-storey building housing teaching facilities and laboratories as part of a £16 million development at the University of York’s Heslington West campus. This is Interserve’s first project with the university. It will include wet laboratories, interactive space for students and a student-services and administration centre. An atrium will link the new building with the nearby biomedical and natural-science building.

The project is due for completion in the autumn of 2016 in time for the start of the 2016/17 academic year.

John Gittins, divisional director with Interserve, said, ‘Securing this first project with the university highlights Interserve’s growing presence and expertise within the buoyant higher education sector and extends our relationship with the Russell Group, for whom we are currently working on six universities in the north.’
