Sea Containers House goes modular with Wieland Electric
The major refurbishment of Sea Containers House on the south bank of the River Thames in London includes the use of Wieland Electric’s Metalynx2 modular wiring system. The building has been converted to a luxury hotel with 359 bedrooms and 33 000 m2 of office accommodation.
The electrical work was carried out by PhoenixME, which replaced the original lighting conduit and cabling system with a modular design scheme. The Metalynx2 system was chosen because it comes pre-wired and pre-tested, making for quick and efficient installation and enabling PhoenixME to meet tight deadlines.
Applications of Metalynx2 structured wiring include power distribution, lighting control (including DALI and KNX) and fan-coil units. Changes to a system can be accommodated with minimum downtime.
