Swegon’s sticky solution

Swegon, Cooling

Beardow & Adams (Adhesives) is a market-leading adhesive manufacturer. Hot melt adhesives take the form of 100% solid materials that are typically molten when hot and solid when cool. The manufacturing process requires the materials to be heated and blended to create a formulated product. These are then cooled and packed, without forming lumps.

Swegon helped the client find a way to modernise its production cooling process, by providing a cooling solution to support the very particular needs of this product. A single cooling unit replaced four older units and was raised on a mezzanine floor to a roof level height, to ensure optimum cooling performance (shown above). This allows the product to be cooled more effectively, giving the client potential to increase production, without compromising quality. Raising the unit also prevents it being contaminated by ground debris, as well as avoiding damage from passing forklift traffic.

The solution Swegon offered, working in conjunction with the client’s in-house maintenance engineers and site contractors, resulted in better cooling for their product and a more efficient process.
