Facilities Show – launching Smart Buildings Expo for 2019

The role of every FM varies – dependent on industry sector and the demands of the working environment.

A critical issue for one FM might be something that’s commonplace to another. However, one factor that’s unavoidable and affects everyone is technology, which has been a driver of immense change across all aspects of society - including, of course, the workplace.

So it’s no surprise that Facilities Show is set to launch Smart Buildings Expo.

Sitting alongside Facilities Show, Smart Buildings Expo will bring together innovative suppliers who all work at the forefront of workplace technology; together with three specialist feature areas: Educate, Consult and Experience.

Across three days of free seminar and panel debate content, Educate will give visitors the chance to hear from thought leaders on the benefits of taking the smart buildings route.

Consult will give visitors the opportunity, through pre-arranged meetings, to speak to experts for independent advice on where to start to be Smart, how to avoid common pitfalls and what they may not even have considered. This is a great opportunity for guidance - different environments have different challenges, and different FM’s will be at different stages of Smart Buildings.

Experience is the showpiece feature of Smart Buildings Expo. How better to demonstrate just what technology in the workplace can do, than by building a 196m2 smart office on the show floor? Master systems integrators, Vanti, have teamed up with Facilities Show to make it all happen – visit to see working examples of innovations from some of the leading suppliers in this space.

You can try out the technology at your own pace as you go through the different workplace environments – from open plan work areas to meeting and huddle spaces and the central command and control centre. Organised tours will also be available.

Wherever you are with technology in your workspace, whether you’re planning a new space or concerned about the values and benefits of a retro fit, there’ll be something at the show for you – come and discover your Smart Buildings mentality in June
