Satchwell Sigma capabilities enhanced

TAC Satchwell has announced significant developments to the hardware and core operating software of the Satchwell Sigma solution for building and energy management, which incorporates state-of-the-art communication and integration technologies. Sigma now uses the more powerful ARM7 processor and also provides RoHS/WEE compliance. New features include increased network capacity and 10/100 MB auto-sensing/switching Ethernet connectivity. Dual hot flash EPROM is retained. Also continued is dual trunking to enable controllers to operate over two different communications networks when guaranteed performance and resilience is critical.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
