Women MPs tap into manual skills

Women MPs tap into manual skills Women MPs were recently given an opportunity to learn about basic plumbing at an event to highlight the advantages of a career in manual trades for women. Run by Women & Manual Trades and sponsored by the JIVE project, the session gave the MPs five top plumbing tips and a practical session on pipework, including bending and joints. The event was hosted by Claire Curtis-Thomas (left), the first woman professional engineer to be elected to Parliament in its history. Also pictured are (continuing from left) Emily Thornberry, Meg Munn (Deputy Minister for Women & Equality), and Jo Swinson (right).
